Happy to announce we've added a new appetizer to our menu at Amoo's Restaurant which will be available starting this evening!
Introducing Mama's Black Garlic "Seertorshi". A Persian deliquecy made from pomegranate wine pickled and aged garlic cloves. They have a very soft texture with a balance of mild sweetness with a savory, citrusy finish. It can be used as a spread with our clay oven baked lavash pita or simply enjoyed by itself.
The recipe was created by our mother but our Chef is the one that pushed for it to be added to the regular menu.
It will be available for takeout very soon.

“Tahdig” is the lower layer of crunchy saffron rice from the pot that typically forms it’s texture by slowly steaming the pot where the bottom section of it cooks the rice a little faster than the rest of the pot. This forms a crispy and crunchy layer of rice cooked in saffron butter that our customers sometimes fight over. This item is usually only available for about two hours of each shift due to the limited amount we can cook at any given day.
Tahding is served either with one of our stews poured on top or you can request to get a plain side of it with your meal!
