After 14 years of serving our community, we have made the difficult decision to close Scallywags Shaved Ice in McKinney and Wylie. We understand this may come as a disappointment, but we will still be available for private parties and events.
Our pirate ship trailers, the "Haley Marie" and the "Debi Marie," along with our hippie trailer, the "Love Shack," have collectively served over 750,000 shaved ice treats during our 14 seasons in business.
We are proud of our accomplishments:
- Featured in a 2012 article in the Dallas Morning News
- Finalist on Shark Tank in 2013
- Named the 2014 New Concessionaire of the Year at the Tulsa State Fair
- Featured in D Magazine in 2014
We have also been fortunate to employ over 200 young men and women who have played a crucial role in our success.
I would like to express my gratitude to my family: my wife, Debi; my children, Colby, Casey, and Haley; my mother, Joan; and many others who have supported my unconventional idea of a pirate ship concession trailer.
The Matzke family will continue to operate Casey's Pumpkin Patch in Allen and Christmas Traditions in Frisco.
We are immensely grateful for the prayers and support we've received during this challenging season of our lives. God has blessed us in many ways, especially with family, friends, and loyal patrons like you who have loved us, prayed for us, and supported our dreams!
