One Sip and You’re Spellbound

One year ago today, I stepped out in faith and did something I never thought I would do…

I became my own boss.

But more than that, I listened to that still, small voice—the one I questioned so many times. Was it really the Holy Spirit? Was God truly the One orchestrating all of this?

Looking back now, it became so evident that He was. He was the only One who could have brought every piece together and made it all come to fruition.

And just like that, I became a partner in River Landing Coffee Co.

Who knew my love for coffee—and my longtime love for Yellowhammer Coffee—would one day lead me to owning a coffee shop of my own?

My friends will tell you, “We always knew you’d have one someday.”

For me, though, I think that love started with my dear Mama. She loved coffee, and some of my favorite memories are of her, my aunts, and my cousins sitting around the table with a cup in hand. As a little girl, I wanted to drink coffee because I wanted to be like them. I wanted to sit with the “grown-ups” and be part of those moments.

And honestly, not much has changed.

My children drank coffee with my Mama, and now my sweet grandchildren sit with me, their Nanna, and have a little coffee too.

That is what coffee means to me.

It isn’t just a drink. It’s an experience. It’s conversation, laughter, family, friendship, and memories made around a table with the people we love.

And now, here we are—one year later.

I am beyond blessed to say that River Landing Coffee Co. is preparing to open another location, this time in my hometown. I cannot wait to see what God has in store for this next chapter. My prayer is that He continues to lead me, use this business for good, and allow River Landing to be a blessing to the people and community we serve.

I have also been incredibly fortunate to have a business partner who has worked tirelessly, taught me so much about business, and shown more patience with my impatience than I probably deserve. I am deeply grateful for everything I have learned along the way.

To every person who has walked through our doors, bought a cup of coffee, shared a post, encouraged us, prayed for us, recommended us, or supported River Landing Coffee Co. in any way—thank you.

One year down.
