Wow! Wow! Wow! The energy and love we witnessed on Do Good Day were absolutely electrifying! Take a moment to scroll through the incredible pictures showcasing the amazing transformation of 32 of our neighbors' homes. It was a heartwarming sight to see people from all walks of life come together to make a real difference! Over 1200 passionate individuals, including our citizens, churches, local businesses, the American Legion, the City of McDonough, Henry County Government, Home Depot, Behr, and countless local and state politicians, joined forces for this extraordinary day!

A huge shout out to Pastor Jeff Daws of SCC for asking the bold question, "How can we bring all of Henry together to make an impact on our community?" And wow, did our community answer that call! We have shown the power of unity and how, together, we can uplift the lives of others.

Thank you to all who attended! Now, let's start planning for 2027 – Do Good Day: Act 2!

Our neighbors at Macon Street Tacos just said what a lot of small businesses have been feeling.

They’re telling the truth.

Many of us made it through COVID. Now we’re in another hard stretch. Prices are up, and people are being careful with every dollar. The mom-and-pop shops that give McDonough its character — the ones who live here, work here, and pour their lives into this community — are feeling it.

We didn’t open KirbyG’s because a consultant in another city crunched the numbers. We opened it because we love this town and its people. We did it to serve others and honor a time when neighbors knew neighbors, and soda jerks like our father went above and beyond. Eighteen years later, that spirit is still keeps the grill going.

When you choose a local restaurant, a local shop, or a night out on the square, you’re not just making a purchase. You’re helping keep the lights on for your neighbors and keeping the heart of this town beating.

This Saturday is Do Good Day in McDonough. Over 1,000 of us will come together to serve our neighbors in the Blacksville community. That’s who we should be when it counts — neighbors helping neighbors.
