One of the questions we get asked most often is, “Why is it called The Giddy?”
The answer is rooted right here on the slopes of magnificent Mount Shasta.
The Giddy takes its name from Giddy Giddy Gulch, a well-known alpine route on Mount Shasta that has inspired climbers, skiers, and adventurers for generations. Located high on the mountain’s southern side, Giddy Giddy Gulch is known for its breathtaking views, challenging terrain, and the sense of exhilaration that comes with exploring one of California’s most iconic peaks.
For us, the name represents more than just a place on the mountain. It captures a feeling, the excitement before a wedding ceremony, the joy of reuniting with family and friends, the anticipation of a retreat or special celebration, and those unforgettable moments that leave you feeling a little “giddy.”
Nestled in the historic mountain town of McCloud at the base of Mount Shasta, we wanted a name that honored our incredible surroundings while reflecting the happiness, wonder, and connection that bring people together.
