Crystal wears many hats around here as both our Manager and Server, and her dedication, hard work, and care for both our guests and team do not go unnoticed. If you've dined with us, chances are you've been greeted with one of Crystal's smiles and experienced firsthand how much she cares about making every visit special.

A new week is here, and as always, our crew is ready to serve up cold drinks, good food, and just enough chaos to keep things interesting.

🍹 Tuesday kicks things off with Alicia and Taylor behind the bar. Alicia is continuing to learn the ropes, and Taylor is still proving that managing a restaurant and bartending at the same time is either impressive or a questionable life choice. The jury is still out.

🍻 Wednesday you'll find Chris and Courtney holding things down. Between Chris's experience and Courtney's quick wit, you're in good hands.

☀️ Thursday starts with Taylor and Crystal opening before Chris takes over in the evening. If you've ever wondered what happens when organization meets controlled chaos, this is your chance to find out.

🎉 Friday and Saturday feature Chris opening and Courtney closing. They've become quite the tag team and somehow keep this place running while making it look easy.

❤️ We also want to give a huge thank you to everyone who has stopped in lately. The support, encouragement, and familiar faces have meant more than you know as we continue making improvements and building something we're proud of.

🍻 You asked, we listened! Drink prices have officially been slashed. It’s true, come in and we will prove it!

☀️ Chris is holding down the fort opening every day except Tuesday & Wednesday. At this point we’re convinced he has a secret bed hidden somewhere in the building. The man simply refuses to go home. 🤣

🍹 Crystal & Taylor are taking over Tuesday and Wednesday this week. They’ve been sharpening their bartending skills and might just surprise you. I said….might. Progress? Maybe.

🌙 Courtney T & Honey Girl are closing things down each night. Honey Girl came in like a whirlwind and somehow became part of the family before we even learned her favorite drink.

🎉 Alicia is learning the ropes on Wednesday, so be nice… or at least nice-ish. 😆

Hi everyone! My name is Taylor Garber, and I’m the general manager at The Mill Restaurant and Beside the Mill.

I’ve heard some of the recent talk around town and wanted to clear a few things up—The Mill is still family-owned, just as it has been since my dad and grandpa opened it back in 1971. What has changed is that I’ve stepped into a larger role in helping manage and shape where we go from here.

As someone who was born and raised in McCall, this community means a lot to me. Before stepping into this role, I worked at the hospital and most recently as a high school teacher. Those experiences allowed me to build meaningful relationships in this community, and teaching our local students was something I truly loved.

I stepped into this role because I believe in The Mill’s future and the opportunity to continue building on the legacy that has made it special for more than 55 years. While I’m not blind to the restaurant’s past or the work that still lies ahead, I’m focused on what we can become and the kind of place we want to create moving forward. My goal is simple: to create a place our community feels proud to gather, celebrate, and make memories while honoring the history that got us here.

We’ve already started making changes, including removing indoor smoking at Beside the Mill, updating the menu, lowering drink prices, bringing in new staff, and placing a stronger focus on creating a better experience for locals.

I’ll be honest—taking on this role is both exciting and a little intimidating. I’m still learning every day, and I certainly couldn’t do it without the support of our staff, our restaurant manager Crystal Glenn, my family, and this community. The amount of encouragement I’ve already received has been incredible. So many people have reached out, stopped in, shared ideas, and offered support, and it has meant more to me than I can put into words. Seeing friends, former coworkers, teachers, and familiar faces walk through our doors and cheer us on has been one of the most rewarding parts of this journey so far.

This is a big project, and we’re taking it one step at a time. If you stop in, I simply ask that you come experience what we’re building for yourself. We welcome honest feedback, new ideas, and would genuinely love to hear what you’d like to see from a local restaurant.

Thank you for your support, patience, and kindness as we continue shaping the next chapter of The Mill. We’re excited about what’s ahead, and I hope you’ll be part of it.
