Hi everyone,
We wanted to take a moment to introduce ourselves. We are Devin and Andrea Metzger, and we are honored to be the new owners of Adagio.
For those who don’t know us, Devin is from Mayfield, and I am proud to call Paducah home. I have spent my entire career in the restaurant industry, starting at the bottom and working my way up through nearly every position along the way. In 2024, I had the incredible honor of winning a Food Network competition, and for the last couple of years I stepped out of the kitchen and into food sales. That role is actually how I came to know Adagio and build a relationship with the previous owners long before owning the restaurant was ever a possibility.
When the opportunity came along, we saw more than a restaurant, we saw a chance to invest in a place that already meant something to the community. We are incredibly grateful for that opportunity and excited for what the future holds.
We had originally planned to introduce ourselves and share our vision in July, but after taking over this week, I felt it was important to talk with you now about some changes you’ll be seeing over the next few weeks.
One thing you’ll quickly learn about me is that I care deeply about the food we serve. I believe every guest deserves a meal that is fresh, consistent, and prepared with care. After spending the last two days working in the kitchen, reviewing inventory, and getting a feel for daily operations, I realized that the current menu is simply too large for us to maintain the level of quality I want our guests to receive.
Because of that, we’ve made the decision to temporarily offer a smaller menu while we work through this transition. This gives our kitchen team the opportunity to focus on preparation, freshness, consistency, and training as we prepare for what’s next.
I know menu changes can sometimes be disappointing, especially if your favorite item isn’t immediately available. But I hope you’ll see this for what it is: an investment in the future of the restaurant. I’d rather serve fewer dishes that we’re truly proud of than offer a larger menu that doesn’t meet the standards we have for ourselves.
The good news is that we are working hard behind the scenes updating the menu that we plan to introduce in early July. There are a lot of exciting things coming, and we can’t wait to share them with you. One of the menu items is the creole shrimp and grits I actually won the food competition with!
Instead of closing our doors during this process, we chose to stay open because we wanted to continue serving our guests and allow our team to grow into these changes together and not be without a job. We are incredibly fortunate to have a wonderful staff, and we’re excited to support them as we move into this next chapter.
You’ll see Devin and me here often. Devin will be spending most of his time helping take care of our guests in the front of the house, while I’ll be in the kitchen working alongside our team. As a family owned restaurant, you may also see our three children around from time to time they’re excited about this adventure too.
Please be patient with us during this transition and know we are working extremely hard. If you have questions, or just want to introduce yourself, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me or Devin. We’d love to meet you.
We look forward to serving you soon.
