Hey! I’m living here!

How would you feel if someone came into your home and started rearranging everything? Moving your bed to the kitchen? Putting your couch on the roof? While it sounds rather silly, that’s what it is like for salamanders, like this dusky salamander, when people move rocks to build cairns, create dams, and channel streams.

Aquatic salamanders and macroinvertebrates use the rocks in Smokies streams as their homes.

Today was a huge success at the International Spring Fest! Thank you all who came today for this special event and a special thanks to all the members who helped today! We would not have pulled it off without each and every one of you! As a reward the next club meeting we will be providing food and drinks to every who helped out as well as some games and entertainment. The club has reach yet another milestone and we look forward to the next one!

To say the least, everyone who attended this weeks club meeting loved it! All the head club members agree everything went according to plan and want to thank each and every one of you for attending and being respectful towards others as well as the club.
