DEAR MOM IN HEAVEN… 🤍
Mother’s Day is the hardest day of the year for people like me.
Because the world keeps celebrating…
while some of us are just trying not to fall apart.
I saw daughters buying flowers today.
I saw people posting old photos with their moms.
I saw happy families having lunch together.
And for a second…
I just stared at my screen wondering what it feels like
to still have a Mom to call.
Because mine is gone.
And no one talks about how cruel that feels.
No one talks about the silence after losing a mother.
The kind of silence that follows you everywhere.
The kind that sits beside you at dinner.
Sleeps next to you at night.
Follows you into every holiday…
every birthday…
every moment you need love the most.
I miss you in the smallest moments, Mom.
When I’m sick and nobody checks on me.
When life hurts and I don’t know who to run to.
When something good happens and I realize…
the one person I want to tell isn’t here anymore.
People think grief is loud.
But honestly…
sometimes it’s just staring at your phone,
wanting to hear a voice that no longer exists.
Sometimes it’s crying in the bathroom so nobody hears you.
Sometimes it’s pretending you’re strong,
because the truth sounds too painful to say out loud:
“I still need my Mom.”
There are nights I replay our last conversation over and over in my head…
trying to remember if you sounded tired.
Trying to remember if I said “I love you” enough.
And the worst part?
Life keeps moving.
People expect you to heal.
To smile again.
To move on.
But how do you move on from the person who made life feel like home?
I don’t need Mother’s Day to remember you…
because there hasn’t been a single day
where I didn’t miss you.
Not one.
So tonight,
while the world sleeps,
I’ll probably cry quietly like I always do.
Missing your voice.
Missing your hugs.
Missing the version of me that still had a mother.
Dear Mom…
I hope Heaven is gentle with you.
Because Earth has not been gentle with me since you left.
To all Moms in Heaven…
Happy Mother’s Day. 🤍🕊️
Some of us are still broken without you.
And we probably always will be.
