My goodness, I have been starting and stopping this post so many times over the past week, I just can't find the right words for the gratitude I have for all my patrons that made Mama Lou's a success over the past 7 years. From the bottom of my heart and soul thank you to all who continued to support me and my business on a weekly basis, you were the ones that kept me going each and every day. As I wake up tomorrow, get ready and walk over to open the lights one more time at Mama Lou's in Masardis it will be a bittersweet moment, I remember the first day and how nervous I was, the butterflies in my stomach and kept thinking what have I done.....but as the days went by and more people stopped and bought my food I realized I had created something so much more than I had ever anticipated. I realized my place in life is to put smiles on people's faces with that first bite of juicy steak, onions and peppers on a roll with pepper jack cheese or that cheese pull on a fresh hot pizza or the sweet lip smacking first bite of chocolate peanut butter cake. It made my soul happy to see everyone excited about the meal they purchased from here. I started off strong with one full time employee besides myself....then I added 2 part time employees and everything was at its peak. Then one by one it ended up just me and I was so head strong to make it work the first year I was alone but I had to realize I could not do all the same hours by myself so I cut them down a bit and tried my best. I know it's been a rollercoaster and I've lost customers because I had to close during vacation, sickness or appointments. I understand that and I just had to keep moving on. I now am in my second year of working alone and as much as I do not want to give up on my little store in Masardis I have to be realistic and realize I just can't continue to do it by myself. But.....I have the opportunity to move my Mama Lou's to Ashland and already have found people that will come work beside me and keep my dream going. So Friday July 10th will be the last day for Mama Lou's in Masardis and I will keep all of you updated on my new location in Ashland. I hope to be up and running by August. It will be more Restaurant/Bakery but I will continue to have warmers with quick pick, pay and go items everyone loves. I plan on doing a larger scale donut selection, homemade white and sweet brown breads, cinnamon rolls, cakes and so much more. I will be open early for a sit down breakfast and lunch and I am in talks with an evening chef. Again I have been so blessed by all of you and grateful for all who have stuck by me, you will never be forgotten.
