Do you want to help with RAGBRAI?

We have an offer for you, if you have a home/property on the Marshall County RAGBRAI route. Day 4-July 22- entering into the West and through to Marshalltown and day 5 -July 23-exiting out of the East into Grundy County.

It is easy! Just contact our office at [email protected] with your name and address. We can discuss the process. It entails offering a place for escape from a severe thunderstorm that may occur while riders are out on the route in our county.

Anyone that has a location on their property adjacent to the route that is accessible for riders to duck into for some shelter from a storm is encouraged to participate. We are not asking you to open your house but if you have a shed or a barn, it can be better than being out in the open during a storm.

This option offers a safer place for them to get to out of the storm. We realize that nowhere is completely safe from a storm, but some places are better than being on a bike in the middle of a rural road.

Those stepping up to help will receive a green lightbulb to put into their porch/outdoor light fixture and/or a green ribbon to tie onto the properties mailbox or entrance, showing riders this is a shelter location.

Seeing these green lights and green ribbons also shows the RAGBRAI riders we are a welcoming county, and we want to be helping neighbors incase of a storm.
