Last night, our law enforcement family was shaken as both Wood County and DPS had officers shot in the line of duty. As fellow law enforcement , we feel this deeply. When one agency hurts, we all hurt.

The men and women who serve our communities put on their uniforms each day knowing the risks involved. They answer calls without hesitation, standing between danger and the citizens they are sworn to protect.

Sheriff Fletcher shared these words that resonate with all of us: “All law enforcement answers the call to serve their community every single day, fully aware of the dangers they may face. They stand in the gap for us, often at great personal risk, because they believe in protecting and serving others.”

We stand in solidarity with Wood County and DPS. Please keep the involved deputy and trooper, their loved ones, and their agencies in your thoughts and prayers.
