Great information to share in our community.

Last week, MMSC President, Denice Halstied, and Rochel Washington, Treasurer, attended this year's Oklahoma Main Street Center - Executive Director/Volunteer Professional Development, hosted by our neighbors, Ardmore Main Street Authority!

We were fortunate to have this valuable training so close to Marietta this year!!

Thank you to all of the speakers and organizers of this vital support system established to encourage and bolster Oklahoma's historic Main Street organizations, communities, and volunteers!!

We would hate to imagine where we'd be without your guidance, encouragement, and understanding of how challenging it is, generally, to get a successful Main Street program off the ground.

We appreciate you all so much!!

Join us for the Marietta Main Street Committee’s monthly community meeting on Monday, May 4, 2026.

At this meeting, we’ll be talking about plans and ideas using the Main Street 4-Point Approach:

1. Organization – Bringing together neighbors, volunteers, businesses, churches, schools, and community groups to pull in the same direction.

2. Promotion – Planning events and activities that bring people downtown, celebrate our local character, and support our small businesses.

3. Design – Caring for the look and feel of Main Street—storefronts, sidewalks, lighting, landscaping, and preserving our historic charm.

4. Economic Vitality – Encouraging a healthy local economy by supporting existing businesses, attracting new ones, and filling empty buildings with new life.

All are welcome. Come as you are, bring a friend, and help us write the next chapter of Marietta’s Main Street story.
