Some of you know my story, and some of you may not.

The handsome guy in the photo below (yes, that’s me, Adam) battled cancer 32 years ago as a kid. I was diagnosed with an astrocytoma brain tumor that was thankfully caught early, treated, and removed.

One of the greatest gifts to come from that experience was Camp Sunshine. It was a place where I met other kids who truly understood what I was going through. For one week, cancer wasn’t what defined us. We weren’t patients—we were just kids having fun, making friends, and creating memories that would last a lifetime.

This summer marks my 33rd year with Camp Sunshine. From camper, to counselor, to volunteer, Camp Sunshine has been a huge part of my life and my journey.

On June 20th, I’ll be trading pizza ovens at Capozzi’s for camp kitchens and a week of making sugary treats, cookies, and plenty of memories with some incredible kids who are currently fighting battles far bigger than most people can imagine.

Camp Sunshine provides year-round programs and a completely free summer camp experience for children in Georgia battling cancer. It costs about $1,000 to send one child to camp for a week, and every dollar raised helps make that possible.

If you’d like to help, any amount—whether it’s $5, $50, or more—can make a real difference in a child’s life.

Cancer took a lot from many of us, but Camp Sunshine gave us something back: friendship, confidence, hope, laughter, and a chance for kids to simply be kids.

Capozzi’s will be closed this Memorial Day 🇺🇸

So some of you may know my story some may not.. Me, Adam in the picture below battled cancer 32 years ago when I was a kid. I had an Astrocytoma brain tumor which was caught very early treated and removed. I became part of a great organization called Camp Sunshine where I got to meet other kids going thru the same challenges I was going thru and was a place cancer was the Norm. We have a lot of kids all over Georgia who attend Camp Sunshine!! Camp Sunshine is a local non profit based here in Atlanta with programs year round for kids ages 7-18. Camp Sunshine gives children with cancer the opportunity to just be kids. Regardless of any affects or disabilities they may have from their illnesses, they can do all of the things that you would expect at camp and more…swimming, horseback riding, climbing a ropes course, boating, arts and crafts, newspaper, computers, cooking, biking…and the list goes on and on. .It costs $1000 to send a single child to camp, so any amount will be greatly appreciated. With that being said I leave for summer camp Saturday June 14th for my 32 years of camp where I get to teach cooking of course and get to give these little fighters an amazing week!!
