A Little Explanation ❤️
I feel like I need to explain why we occasionally close the restaurant.
This past Saturday, we were away out of state attending a family wedding. When we returned and listened to the messages on our answering machine, there were a few that were, quite honestly, not very kind. That really made us feel like maybe we needed to explain a little more.
We are human, just like everyone else. We have families, and we deserve to spend time with them just as much as anyone else does.
Yes, we close periodically, but there is always a reason. It is never simply because we “don’t feel like working.”
We don’t have enough staff to operate if we are away. And the reality is, we don’t have the luxury of calling off work just because we don’t feel like working. We have spent the last 20 years missing birthdays, holidays, family gatherings, and countless other moments because we felt guilty about closing.
But we have reached a point where we realize that life is short. Our families are getting older, and some things are simply more important than being open every single day.
We also have our food truck, and it has an upcoming event that is our biggest event of the year. It requires all hands on deck, so Bettina’s will be closed Friday, October 9th and Saturday, October 10th.
Also, just a heads up that starting this weekend, we will be short-staffed on Fridays and some Saturdays. We will continue to work hard to serve you the best we possibly can, but we truly appreciate your patience and understanding when things take a little longer than usual.
To those of you who understand and support us—thank you. ❤️
And to those who may not understand, we sincerely hope you can find it in your heart to do so.
We love what we do, we appreciate our customers more than you know, and we are incredibly grateful to have been serving our community for the past 20 years.
Thank you for understanding that we are people first, just like you. ❤️
