Seeing there is speculation due to this article coming out.

There are issues with the exhaust and fire suppression within the hood, that is why we said and the building owners agreed it can no longer serve as a restaurant without significant financial investment. No hood cleaning companies would clean our vents to the standard as required by state law every 6 months as it would then put liability on them should there ever be a fire in the exhaust.

With the recent uptick of large restaurant fires due to grease buildup, the state is cracking down on non-compliant systems.

There is potentially no way for the apartments above to evacuate if there was a hood fire as our hood runs the width of the building and discharges underneath the fire escapes rendering it useless.

Less than a year after moving to their new home in Manville, Your Mother’s Favorite Breakfast Place has unexpectedly closed its doors. Read more about the closure at the link in comments.

Hello all, this is not a message our family wanted to make. This past Tuesday, we were notified of a significant risk to safety in our establishment. Since then, we’ve had other expenses come in to suggest how we can become compliant. Unfortunately, we cannot swing it. The cost of the needed repairs will exceed what a working class family can afford. We currently do not have the access to the type of capital we need for a building that we only rent. This is the first time we have seen absolutely no possible way to stay open in our current form. This is NOT a failure of our restaurant, rather a failure of process and procedure that has put us in a spot we cannot come out of. TO ALL OF OUR CUSTOMERS (especially our regulars, you know who you are) we appreciate you more than we could ever put into words. Thank you for making this journey so special. We love you.

Tony is still down and out, we will be open tomorrow Friday 12/5 until 8pm

Unfortunately we will be closed today. Tony has been laid up in bed since yesterday. We will keep everyone posted.

1 week from today, 12/5/25. and will host a toy drive. We will be open 7am to 8pm and our Friday fish menu will be available all day until sold out. We ask that you please bring a new unwrapped toy, if you can not make the day, feel free to drop one by at any time.

We would like to thank all of those who have dined with us,(even you Jean). We were nervous about moving, yet we've met some new amazing friends, many of our customers from our old location continue to join us in Manville and that speaks volumes that you all are not just customers but friends and family. Enjoy your day today, we will be back at it tomorrow.
