Hmmm

Every dive bar has that ONE bartender who is basically a f@cking house cat with a liquor license. Don’t touch me, Why aren’t you paying attention to me, Get out of my bar, Where are you going,and Don’t yell, I hate loud noises. Then Also screaming WHO THE F@ck ORDERED 14 GREEN TEA SHOTS across the building. They’re exhausted for 97% of the shift, leaning against the cooler looking like they just worked a double in a Victorian coal mine. Then 2AM hits and suddenly they’ve got the fu***ng zoomies. They’re speed pouring vodka, climbing over barbacks, dancing to a song nobody else can hear and threatening to fight the receipt printer. Feed them or they become emotionally unstable. Give them attention, but not too much attention. Tell them they’re your favorite bartender. Actually don’t that’s embarrassing, then actually say it again. And GOD FORBID someone walk in smelling like another bar cause they know, and you don’t even have to say anything. They’ll sniff the air, narrow their eyes and go Where the f**k have you been ? You say I just stopped somewhere for one drink. They reply with Then go have THEM make your f@cking Tito’s and soda then. Then five minutes later You want your usual? Dive bartenders aren’t employees. They’re emotionally unpredictable bar cats that somehow have access to alcohol, cash drawers and your deepest personal secrets And somehow you keep feeding them.
