No scones today our baker is taking the day off. We will have scones on Friday, but we do have new seasonal muffins. The flavors are pumpkin, butterpecan and red velvet as well as double chocolate, blueberry and banana walnut.

** whelp our community is amazing for sure. A sweet lady came in and gifted me an original Goodys mug from Jim’s shop. We will cherish this mug and keep it displayed in our shop!!

Our coffee shop, along with our community is mourning the loss of a tremendous kind hearted human

Jim Goodwin wasn’t just a coffee lover ,
he was a long term business owner that brought so many people together. He was a life long friend to so many. Most importantly he was a true devoted husband to his wife Nancy and his children

We were lucky enough to be blessed by Jim , Monday thru Thursday at 7am with his “ coffee friends “ we grew to love him like a father/confidant/friend …he was our “ open flag “ guy. Putting our open flag out daily every morning

His history ties to Salem captured me( his great great greater great gma was the oldest accused witch ) , his astonishing ability to write 18 books ( he mentioned PCB in several of them) totally impressed me, his knowledge of in owning a successful coffee shop in manistee guided me to open our shop . Having him frequent us almost daily proved to me we knew what we were doing and we have good coffee.

He had his place at the table he sat daily, and that place is set to honor him for a week.

When you take a sip of coffee this morning think of him, and thank him for the continued service of volunteering he did for our community with a grateful heart and a smile on his face. He did it quietly, with compassion and not to brag or get a pat on the back. He taught me to give in quiet and to love Outloud.

I will miss our Fall Tuesday afternoon chats when he would come in and visit me and chat just to see how I was doing. He made sure to give me a bday gift yearly and a song that will be remembered for life.

Thank you Jim Goodwin for your love of coffee and for your community!!
