Happy German-American Day! 🇺🇸🇩🇪 Today, we honor the incredible history, culture, and achievements of the more than 40 million Americans of German descent who have shaped our communities, industries, and culture.
The roots of this day run deep—back to October 6, 1683, when 13 German-Mennonite families arrived in Philadelphia. In 1987, Congress and President Ronald Reagan officially designated this day to recognize their lasting impact. Whether it’s the food, the festivals, or the history, German heritage has a massive footprint in the US.
