Oh Harry’s,
How do I say goodbye to you? After all these years what do I say? And now with our last day of service coming to an end, my emotions have me lost and found at the same time. I have thought a lot the last couple weeks, should I reach to something poetic, should I grab a quote or should I tell the funniest story of all time. But I can only come up with two words….Thank You!
Thank You! To everyone that has ever worked at Harry’s, from start to finish. The four walls of Harry’s has been influenced, enhanced and enriched by every soul. As Harry’s we dug in when things were tough, planted seeds so we could grow, watered it with blood, sweat & tears with personal sacrifices, let those seeds mature to see a glimpse of the future, cultivated when ideas were ripe, sliced it, diced it, sauteed & flambeed , seasoned ourselves, presented, delivered hospitality to customers to the best of our ability. And most importantly created our place of joy, the stupid corner! Most crowded place in the restaurant, bottleneck at the bar, but we all wanted to be there. To enjoy the friendships we have embraced, find our common ground, never knowing you might be meeting best friends. The place we learned our likes, dislikes, similarities, differences, backgrounds, laughing , so much laughter and then reset for the next day.
Thank You! To our customers, Manhattan, K-State, Fort Riley, NE Kansas, region and alumni for choosing Harry’s. Trusting us with your celebrated moments and sharing them is an incredible gift, compliment and goal that Harry’s has strived for. The friendships, conversations, stories of past, victories, defeats, the joy of getting to know Harry’s, its growth and support of staff that moves on to start their lives as they move to their chosen career is so respected and humbling.
But as I think of these words to say goodbye, it is not goodbye, see you later or this is over. Harry’s will always have a piece of our collective hearts that will never go away. Hopefully one day someone will say about the collective experience at Harry’s will be “You are the perfect verse over a tight beat”. We will keep working, We still have more to do!
Thank You
