Dear Buba Family,

With the government reopening, our free meal program has officially come to an end.

Over the past weeks, we were able to share over 500 warm meals across our locations — and we couldn’t have done it without you.
Your kindness, your Pay-It-Forward donations, and your support made it possible for us to keep this going as long as we did. Truly, thank you.

When people needed help, our community stepped up.
When families couldn’t access SNAP/EBT benefits or government employees were without paychecks, Buba was able to be there — not because we’re a big company, but because our community has a big heart.

When we started offering free meals to those affected by the shutdown and EBT delays, we simply wanted to help — and your response has been incredible. Across our three Buba locations, hundreds of meals have been shared, reminding us that kindness truly matters.

We’re a small, family-run group of restaurants doing our best to keep this going. Some have warned us about the strain, and it’s true — it hasn’t been easy. But we believe that when you lead with heart, good things follow.

❤️ The Heart Behind Buba

We’ve had people ask why we’re doing this — giving out free meals when small businesses are struggling too.

The truth is, it’s something that’s been in our hearts long before Buba ever opened its doors.

I grew up in Central Vietnam, a place that faces floods and storms every year. During those times, even a small bag of ramen noodles could mean everything. My family didn’t have much, but we always shared what we could. My mom still does — every year she donates food and money to help thousands of people back home.

That’s where this comes from.
We may not have a lot, but we have enough to share.

At Buba, food has never been just food — it’s comfort, care, and a reminder that kindness always matters.

We’ve been blown away by the kindness pouring in from our community. Many of you have reached out asking how you can help — so we’ve started a simple Pay It Forward program.

If you’d like to cover a meal for someone affected by the government shutdown or unable to use their EBT benefits, you can now do so right here at Buba.
Just let our team know you’d like to “pay it forward”, and we’ll make sure your donation goes directly toward warm meals for those who need them most.

Every $10 = one hot meal.
Every act of kindness = one person reminded they’re not alone. ❤️

Dear Community,

During COVID, Buba stood with our neighbors — and we’re here again when times get tough.

With the government shutdown and news that some SNAP/EBT benefits and pay for government employees may be delayed, we want to do our part to help.

Starting tomorrow, anyone affected — whether you’re a government employee out of work or a family unable to use your EBT card — is welcome to have a warm meal, on us.

Simply call ahead for take-out. Please bring your government ID or EBT card with a matching ID so we can make sure the meals go where they’re needed most.
