9/11/2001 I will always remember where I was, laying a paver driveway in Forked River right on the water. When the music stopped playing on the Freebird and Hot wings 105.7 the hawk morning show we stopped working and listened in disbelief thinking this is the least funny prank we ever heard on their show. As the next hour unfolded we could start to see smoke from across the bay. Needless to say our work day stopped and we went to watch the news.
For the past 25 years I’ve heard people’s stories from the day, where they were, who they were with and how it affected them and us all. There have been many stories of loss as well as many stories of the chain of events that stopped them from being in those buildings.
Sharing these stories and remembering these events is truly, in my eyes, is what Never Forget means.
