When I say “We have THE BEST Cubano, hands down,” I really mean it. 💁🏻‍♀️ I often get people from Miami or Puerto Rico who are ready to challenge me, but at the end, once they bite into it, they admit, Dos Alas has THE best Cubano. 😛💕😋

Customers often ask “Did you have a restaurant in LA, is that why you opened one in Mammoth?” The answer is no and no. My career was in Advertising and Experiential Marketing (Event Production, etc.), but I had “Open a restaurant” on my Bucket List for many years because 1) I come from a foodies family (I’m definitely NOT the best cook in my family, not even close, but I’m a better cook than your average person 🤭), and 2) I was part of the Opening Crew of the San Juan, Puerto Rico Chart House (during a college vacation), and learned how restaurants run there. They offered me a management position, but I had to decline to go back to college. That said, the Chart House, which I was a part of everywhere I went after that (Boca Raton, FL, Westwood & Malibu, CA), was a very special company. They taught me about professionalism, customer service, ethics, and to always aim for the gold standard in everything I did, lessons which influenced my career and my life thereafter, and I am forever grateful. I would have stayed, even if part-time; however, my day job forced me to quit, since Advertising required long hours and travel. They were my 2nd family for 10 years, and I was heart-broken…but my career did take off, so all good. I saw this post with a photo of the San Juan crew (don’t try to find me in that blurry photo, as I had already moved to CA, was working in Malibu by then). The memories still warm my heart. ❤️🥰💞

Happy Retirement to our sweet and feisty Tracy aka TT! 🤗💞 She worked hard for her $, and now it’s time to relax and enjoy her golden years with her sweeter than sweet CT, best husband in the world❣️ Not that they weren’t already (constantly) taking fun and relaxing vacations 🙄 but that “gotta get back to work” thought was always lingering in the back of her mind... Nope, no more! 🖐️ She’s a generous soul, spent half the $ she made at Cast Off buying gifts for everyone, literally, coworkers and customers alike, always. She knows everyone by name, and everyone knows her name. She will remain in town, and already said she’ll be picking up shifts, so it ain’t over till the fat lady sings! Have lots of fun and relaxation on your 1-month vacation guys! We’ll see you on the other side! 😘

Well, considering the town is semi-dead, we’re already feeling the Shoulder (Slow) Season taking over, I must say, I was pleasantly surprised to see we actually filled all of our tables for one seating. 🤗 It was a slowish start, but people kept calling and walking in. The IKON Pass holders came through after our big snowfall on Tuesday❣️⛷️🏂 💞 Oh, and more snow coming tomorrow and Sunday! ❄️ Locals are also starting to enjoy the calmness after such a crazy busy Spring Break season. ☺️

It’s been snowing all day non-stop! I kept predicting a “Miracle March,” but definitely wasn’t expecting a “Miracle April!” ❄️ Then again, it did snow on 4/26 last year…but not like this! Oh well, hope the IKON Pass holders come back to ski this week, as the town has been dying down for the Shoulder Season. 🤞😉🤞
