Mark your calendars and get ready for some rodeo excitement! The Painted Pony Championship Rodeo is rolling into the Franklin County Fairgrounds on Sunday, August 9th at 3:00 PM. Watch as skilled competitors face off in thrilling events like Ba****ck Riding, Saddle Bronc Riding, Steer Wrestling, Tie-Down Roping, Breakaway Roping, Team Roping, Barrel Racing, and the always popular Bull Riding. With over $10,000 in prize money up for grabs, it’s sure to be a high-energy day. Tickets are on sale now at frcofair.com or at the fair office. Lumberjack Weekend is September 13th and 14th. Along with all of the other activities we are having 2 auctions. One will be held at 5PM on Saturday right after Saturdays 1-hour Speed carve contest and then one at 4PM on Sunday after Sundays 1-hour Speed carve contest. The contents of the auction will be the carvings the chainsaw artists carve at the speed carves and their weekend masterpieces. There will be some great carvings that you could pick up. There may be some other carvings available as well

The 2nd Annual Lumberjack Weekend is on September 13th and 14th, 2025. Over 50 vendors displaying a variety of goods for sale. Woodcarvers start work on their Masterpiece carving on Saturday and then 2 speed carve contests throughout the weekend Come watch these carvers in action, you will be amazed. Watch Wood-Mizer turn a log into building materials as they display a Wood-Mizer portable sawmill. Then at 10:30 New York State Lumberjack Association Members compete in front of the grandstand. Several events are planned throughout the day, but you won't want to miss the popular log rolling competition. Hot saw competition, Springboard chop, undercut, crosscut and other competitions are scheduled as well. Then we have several food vendors ready to serve those great fair foods, some open early for breakfast and others open all day for lunch and dinner If all that tires you out, stop in the Trackside Tavern and enjoy a cold beer. New this year, the ASAS group is hosting a concert at 7 PM on the stage, The ASAS 2025 Music Event Featuring Bo Bice with Opening Act Tom Nitti & Ashley Bryant will take the stage at 7 PM Stturday night. A day and a half left to fill your craving for Jamming Jimmys Wood fired Pizza get it while it lasts !Dont forget Aunt Missys next door , serving our yummy pulled pork, pork buts slowly smoked over Cherry wood .. seasoned then topped on fries makes a mean poutine . Or .. Served atop bacon cheeseburger slammed with a scoop of mac and cheese that’s what we call a ROUNDHOUSE Burger and they are Goooood ! River Rat cheese curd is the ONLY way to go when you try to duplicate Quebec style cheese curd .. (made fresh for us ) and that’s exactly what we serve on our gravy drenched fresh cut fries ! Buffalo Chicken fries are a real good seller but over all our Steak and cheese poutines or our steak and cheese Subs are ever popular . We use real Sirloin shaved thin grilled and shred atop our seasoned griddle topped with American cheese that’s folded in to meld all those fair food flavors in one bite you won’t be disatisfied ! Open til 10 pm tonight and reopening Sunday at 11 am

Fairgrounds parking infield is now full

Alternate parking at the North Country community college campus is available. Traffic is flowing very good right now no back up no waiting. it’s a great day to stop out and try a chicken bacon, ranch woodfired pizza new this year at GM and Jimmy’s patio. Pizza also knew this year Frenchies fried dough is offering some really tasty ice cream treats and don’t forget about St. Mary’s Maple
