Four generations ago Calamigos Ranch opened its first restaurant right here on this very spot. Owned and operated as it is today, by the Gerson Family, the first (of many) signature items was born; The Calamigos Barbeque Sauce. With their roots planted firmly in the Cowboy Lifestyle, illustrating the rugged brand of live and living off the land, Grant and Helen Walter Gerson created what is known

today as Calamigos Ranch. Over 50 years later we would like to welcome you, our Guest, back to Calamigos Ranch for a dining experience wrapped deeply in Rustic California Heritage, honoring the cowboys and cowgirls before us, for a fusion cuisine unlike any other. The Gerson Family welcomes you to the Malibu Cafe; a breathtaking dining experience we call Nouveau Barbeque. With signature dishes created right here, generations ago, paired with modern cooking techniques and flavors, we are proud to honor our ancestors and introduce you to a few of the many things that make California timeless.

What makes this recognition even more meaningful is knowing our members get to call this their own. A quiet corner of the Malibu coastline to spend long summer days, unwind by the ocean, and create lasting memories with family and friends.

This summer, Calamigos welcomed another incredible group of Camp Calamigos campers, where camp is about so much more than making memories—it’s about building compassion, confidence, and character.

We’re incredibly grateful to have partnered with St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital on a meaningful service project, where our campers created thoughtful gifts for St. Jude patients while learning the importance of kindness, empathy, and giving back. Together, they made keepsake keychains to take home, created handmade keychains for St. Jude patients, and colored artwork created by St. Jude patients—small acts of kindness that made a meaningful connection.

Summer weekends at Calamigos are some of our favorites☀️ There’s nothing better than ending the week with live jazz and wood-fired pizzas at Gentry Market, then coming back for a Saturday date night at The Ranch Club with great food, music, and a beautiful Malibu sunset.

We love seeing our members make the most of these long summer evenings. Here’s to many more weekends together at the Ranch.
