My Magnetic Springs Cafe and I have retired. Is there anyone who would like to carry on an eatery in this small village soon to be a desired location with a sewer system and a proximity to Marysville, Marion, Delaware, and a 50 minute drive to down town Columbus?

Many people share with me that their enjoyable lunch began with their trip up to northern Union Co. The country roads through corn and hay fields, the Scioto River nearby and the seasons as they change delighted them. The food wasn't so bad either.

It is with heavy heart that I am closing the Magnetic Springs Cafe. These last 8 years have been fruitful in so many ways--the wonderful guests, the comfort of good food, the beauty of the flowers that greet customers, the quiet of the front porch, and my budding backyard garden, and the local neighbors who have supported my effort to build a return to a once thriving and healing village. I have loved all that, but now I move on to another chapter, don't know what or when but am eager. For those who want to, stay in touch, say hello when you can. I'll let you know.

The Magnetic Springs Cafe will be closed Thanksgiving week, including the Friday and Saturday after Thanksgiving. See you on Nov. 30 for regular hours and days.

Magnetic Springs Cafe has a new presentation of Lily Spencer's paintings. They were originally displayed in a Lancaster, Ohio, Folk Museum and depict every day mid 19th Century home life--cooking, shopping, interruptions of well-planned events. They are lovely and fun to look at. Come in and see.

The Magnetic Springs Cafe will be open this Wednesday, March 2nd for business as usual. Come and taste. Hours: Wed. thru Fri. 11:00 to 1:00 and Sat. 7:00-11:00. Cash only.

Magnetic Springs Cafe will be closed Feb. in order to rest, recharge, re-up. Part of that process includes an open, though limited, enrollment in a course taught by Sylvia Zimmerman, the cook, retired English teacher, dairy maid, cheese maker and ordained minister, on Spiritual Piety and Civil Society. Classes begin Feb. 1, meeting from 9-11 twice weekly at the Cafe on Tues. and Thurs. Call 614-570-5032 if interested. Coffee, fruit, and cake served.
