Hello everybody. This is Thony, the Mango Man.
First, I want to start by saying thank you. Thank you for your years of support with my food cart. It was not always easy, especially in the beginning, but as the years went by, you guys showed me a whole lot of love. And for that, I thank you so very much from the bottom of my heart.
I also need to share something important.
This is going to be my last season with the Café Costa Rica food cart.
This is not easy for me to say. Since my accident in 2022, I’ve done my best to keep going, but right now I need to take care of myself. My body is asking for regeneration, rest, and healing. So that is what I need to do.
That means the food cart is going to shut down at the end of this season.
That does not mean I’m going away.
You guys already know I’ve got my sauces — Mango Man Salsa and Monteverde Salsa — and probably more sauces coming down the road. That’s something I’m going to dedicate myself to. And when it comes to Café Costa Rica, I’m still going to be around doing some small catering services, if I can.
But the daily grind of the food cart, after all these years, I need to stop and take care of myself.
I know a lot of you are going to be disappointed, and I’m sorry. But I need to do this if I want to keep going and keep providing you guys with the goodness that my mama taught me. You know, the goodness that my mama taught me is what I’ve been sharing with you all this time.
As far as I’m concerned, this business has always been a cultural experience, and I’m happy that you guys have had fun with it and enjoyed it with me.
My schedule for this summer is going to be out probably in May. I’m in the middle of getting settled with dates and events and all those things, so be patient with me. I’m going to put that out there so you know exactly where I’m going to be and when, and if you’d like to, you can come by, say hi, and have a delicious meal.
I have to tell you, this is one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to do. Café Costa Rica started from nothing, and with your help I got to see it become something real. Stepping away from that is very hard for me. I really thought I would be doing this for a lot longer. But right now, I have to listen to what my body is telling me.
I’m still going to be here. I’m just going to be doing things a little differently.
So don’t be sad, because I’m not completely gone. I will still be around.
