We are so excited to unveil our latest project here at Analog— The Village Lights Lounge. We wanted to create a space that honored the legacy of Village Lights Bookstore and its marvelous owners, Nathan and Ann Montoya.

We have spent the last few days painting & meticulously perfecting every detail of this room.

All of the books lining the shelves are used books from Village Lights, a (now closed) bookstore in downtown Madison. We are so lucky to be able to feature their wonderful collection right here in our shop.

There are a lot of personal touches hidden throughout the space along with a massive gallery wall showcasing incredible pieces from various different artists.

The goal was to create a space where everyone can settle in, so the room features cozy chairs, formal seating, and even a dedicated writer’s desk complete with a community journal & a cork board for visitors to leave their thoughts (or polaroids). Oh, and a blackout poetry display for a fun community project!

Come grab a drink, find a corner, and get lost in the details. The lounge is officially open! 😊

When looking at this freshly painted bathroom, you might think to yourself, “Wow, Noah sure did a bad job. Why didn’t he hire a professional instead of trying to do this himself? Why didn’t he ask his wife to help?”

Is passion not a virtue? Are our mistakes not a portal to grace?

This bathroom isn’t just a place to relieve yourself. It’s a meditation on the very nature of life and our shared humanity.

The many drips and dribbles represent the many mistakes we make.

The hastily painted trim is a strikingly artful insight into our futile tendency to hide failure from those we love.

Whom among us hasn’t made mistakes? You think you’re so perfect? Let this paint job act as a mirror unto your soul. You are mortal. You are imperfect. Get off my case!

We were thrilled to help out at the incredible new Buster’s Fountain and Cafe! Seth and Ashley are wonderful people. And their food is as wonderful as they are! Give them a follow on Facebook, but more importantly go get a bite to eat.

This right here is the definition of community. Noah Wright, the owner of Analog Coffee & Records stopped by yesterday to grab a bite and chat. He asked how things were going and I told him we needed to fill some positions immediately to keep up. Noah being Noah did the unthinkable, showed up today to help us out and even brought Cambria with him. The Analog team doesn’t just talk the talk of supporting each other, they truly put it into action. Real people, real connection, real interaction, that’s what you’ll always get from both of our businesses.
