We would like to thank the incredible (Seriously, INCREDIBLE!!) students from St. James, Madelia, LCWM, and Maple River (grades 9–12) for spending part of their Pay It Forward Trip: Immigration Study with us! 💚✨

It was an HONOR to share a little about the cultures, traditions, and experiences of Mexico! They even got to learn a few things about Guatemala, Honduras, and El Salvador. We loved having the opportunity to talk about immigration, community, and the many ways different cultures help shape our small towns.

We hope they enjoyed the homemade tortillas, esquites, and the visit to Fiesta Market as much as we enjoyed hosting them! 🌽🫓❤️

And a small apology for getting emotional while sharing our story. The journey of immigration is beautiful, but it’s also raw, personal, and sometimes very difficult to talk about. Those experiences shaped who we are, and while revisiting them can be hard, it’s also incredibly humbling and important. If sharing our story helps create a little more understanding, compassion, and connection, then it’s always worth it. ❤️💚

Thank you for your curiosity & willingness to learn from others. Seeing young people invest their time in understanding different cultures and perspectives gives us SoOoOoOo much hope for the future. 🙏

BIG shout out to my staff (PER USUAL) as they made this day perfectly possible! Tomasa even had the courage to dress in her beautiful Guatemalan dress & talk & inspire the kids sharing her immigration story! SO proud of her! I was to be translating but of course I lost it! 🥲

This staff is just the greatest! I give them my ideas & they execute it with perfection with NO complaints! Silvia made homemade tortillas, Anlly helped me make surprise Mexican Candy treat bags, Noe & Erik made amazing Esquites (and the taco bar)!! The rest of the staff filled in wherever needed & handled this party like pros! ❤️‍🔥

A huge thank you to for having us at the game for Restaurant Appreciation Night! We loved meeting new faces, seeing so many familiar ones, and spending a beautiful evening surrounded by our community.

Huge thank you to Preferred Printing who came through with FUN last minute projects! ⚾️🧡🖤

And can we talk about Plaza Plinko?! 🎯 It was an absolute hit! We gave away free meals, free cheese dip, Plaza goodies, and lots of fun prizes. Seeing everyone line up to play and celebrate their wins was so much fun!

One of our favorite parts of the night was watching our own kids run around, play the between-inning games, and make memories right alongside everyone else. 🖤 We don’t get out much, but if we do, it’s because of a work event! 🤣🙌🏽

These are the moments that remind us just how blessed we are. 🧡 To own a small-town business, meet incredible people, create memories with our family, & be part of a community that continues to support us is something we’ll NEVER take for granted. ✨

🍔 NATIONAL BURGER DAY 🍔

Kind of ironic that National Burger Day landed on a Thursday… because everybody around here knows Burger Day at Plaza is Wednesdays 😅❤️‍🔥

But honestly… one burger day a week just isn’t enough sometimes 😂

Especially when the Blackhawk burgers are calling 👀🖤🧡 (If you know… you KNOW 😂🔥)

What started as adding burgers to the menu somehow turned into people coming to a Mexican restaurant specifically FOR burgers… and honestly, we still laugh about that sometimes. ❤️ We get it though:

Memorial Day is for honoring the men and women who gave their lives serving our country.

We especially remember our local Plaza heroes Emilio J Campo Jr & James Rogers Jr.

RIP to ALL the heroes who gave their lives in service to our country and paid the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom.

Happy National Waitstaff Day to some of the MVPs of the restaurant world ❤️‍🔥🌮🍹

Servers are honestly just built different! It takes a special person to do what they do everyday!

The memory?
The speed?
The ability to hear from across the room with 3 tables talking at once?
Absolutely unmatched. 😭

These guys survive on caffeine & pure adrenaline, and somehow still make people feel welcomed and cared for every single day. ❤️

They are the smiles, the chaos coordinators, the unofficial therapists, the food runners, the birthday singers, the drink refill magicians, and the reason so many people keep coming back to Plaza. ✨

SO, of course, in pure plaza style to celebrate… they all get to work today! 😅😝😍💖 Come help us celebrate them on their special day! ✨

Seriously — this team means the world to me, and I’m SO grateful for every single one of them. We might be a small team, but we are a strong one! 💚

P.S… AMBER! Thank you for ALWAYS coming in to save the weekend even though you have your regular job! Your work ethic is unmatched! And, we WILL be taking pictures of you this weekend because apparently I have none! 😝 📸
