Kmart in Clinton Township to Close: Liquidation Sale Dates
Clinton Township, MI — The Kmart store in Clinton Township will shutter in mid-October as part of a huge downsizing that is fraying the discount chain’s Michigan roots.
Sears Holdings spokesman Howard Riefs confirmed the Kmart store at 34800 Groesbeck Highway is closing, The Macomb Daily reported.
Final liquidation sales begin July 28 and normal store hours will continue until the final day.
Employees, most of them part-time or hourly works, will be eligible for a severance package, Riefs said, declining to tell the newspaper how many workers are affected.
In two rounds of closures, Sears has said it will shutter more than 200 stores.
