THE WALNUT STREET CAFE

A cozy cafe on Walnut Street just outside of downtown Lynn and accessible from Route 1. We serve a variety of domestic and imported beers and wines and dozens of flavors of iced and hot coffee. If you're hungry, we have club sandwiches, breakfast sandwiches, and bagels. When the weather is right, enjoy your food and beverages, and a bit of live music and entertainment at least 6 nights a week, out on our patio. With stiff competition from the megachains dotting the landscape, The Daily Item named us their #1 Coffee Shop for 2009, 2010 and 2011! Thank you item favorites! http://www.northshoretonight.com/walnutstreetcafe

Pete McDade is our Speakup feature this Wed 9/2/2026, in person at the Walnut Street Coffee Cafe, 157 Walnut St., Lynn MA.
Pete lives up to his late bloomer status.
In his 40's, he ran summer road races and a couple
marathons; got a black belt in Aikido at age 50; and started
writing verse in his mid-60's. Under the guidance of two
poet friends, he released "Columbia Thunderbolt" in 2016,
and admits that he's overdue to cast out another message in a
bottle. Currently, he's a retired carpenter living in Ipswich.
You won't find him on social media. He has a troubled
relationship with his smartphone and sees AI as a
supervirus. Time will tell.

Justin Williams is our Sunday Music open mic feature at the Walnut St Coffee Cafe, 157 Walnut St, Lynn MA. this Sunday 8/30/2026.
Justin Williams is a carpenter by trade since he came to Nantucket from his hometown of Horsham, England in 1996. A singer/songwriter as his hobby, Justin spent the last decade playing for fun with friends in his home and his former garage band space, dubbed Spitbucket studio in east Lynn. He takes inspiration from a wide and eclectic range of music from the 60’s and 70’s, such as the catchy rock of ELO to the harmonious pop of The Carpenters or the avant-garde glam-rock of Roxy Music, and crafts cover songs of that era employing a slight twist using his own style. His original songs are mainly ballads reflecting his interests.
