Dear Bluestem Community,
On March 21st, we closed the doors to The Bluestem Restaurant, to protect the health of our team and the community. We have reached the exceedingly difficult decision that the Bluestem legacy will come to an end.
As you know, the future of hospitality is incredibly uncertain and over the past month, we have tried our best to navigate this uncharted territory. We have explored multiple paths to emerge triumphant at the end of this pandemic, but there’s just no way for us to support the financial weight of our company and the building we call home. Restaurants already walk a fine line before any COVID-19 restrictions/effects, and given that no one knows how long the impacts of this pandemic will last, or what the new normal will be, we do not see a viable path forward.
We cannot express the amount of sadness that fills our hearts, but we are also overcome with the sincerest gratitude. It has been a privilege for us to be a part of the community for nearly 8 years. Thank you for allowing us to be part of your family, whether it is joining you in your holiday festivity or birthday celebrations. It was our pleasure to make these memories with you.
We hope we created a place where you felt comfortable, could put your cell phones down, and reconnect with family and friends.
We cannot thank you enough for the opportunity for making all this possible for the last 8 years.
We must not forget the heart of the company, our team members. From the hosts that greet you with a smile, to our servers, bartenders, cooks, dishwashers, bussers, cleaning crew, and the managers making sure the restaurant keeps running, we could never have done this without them. It has been our privilege to serve you.
Feel free to say a few words on our Facebook wall so that our staff, community, and Chef Skyler can keep these memories we would greatly appreciate it! We couldn’t be more proud and honored to serve the tri-state area.
Thank you again, everyone, for your endless support. We will miss welcoming you through our doors but hope to see you around!
We will leave you with this:
“One of the very nicest things about life is the way we must regularly stop whatever it is we are doing and devote our attention to EATING.”
