UPDATE: There were some questions about the delay in the approval of liquor licenses. Citizens were wondering if the delay was caused by the city or state.

There is a backlog at the state level and it may cause a delay in processing applications. However, it was revealed last night that the Department of Revenue (DOR) needed the City of Lumberton to update some verbiage on their ordinance. That update is being completed and it’s not going to cause any delays. The DOR is still processing applications and hopefully they will have businesses approved as soon as possible.

Looks like “Purvis” famous black bear made a stop in Lumberton at Jalisco Mexican Restaurant! 🌮😂

We can’t confirm if he came for tacos, queso, or just to check out the food everyone’s talking about… but he looked pretty happy when he left! 😅

If you spot him around town, send him back our way we’ll save him a table! ❤️🇲🇽

🍹 Margarita Update 🍹

We’ve had a lot of people asking if we’re serving margaritas now that liquor sales have been approved in Lumberton.

The answer is not just yet!

While we’re excited that this is one step closer, there are still a few licensing and approval steps we must complete before we can officially begin serving alcoholic beverages.

We appreciate everyone’s patience and excitement! We promise to keep you updated throughout the process, and we’ll make a big announcement when it’s finally Margarita Launch Day! 🎉🍹
