This photo feels a little different looking back.

I’ve known the family behind City Market since I was a youngin’. I’ve worked alongside them in the oil fields, worked in their chicken houses, lived in their rental houses, and walked through those doors more times than I could ever count.

But seven years ago, I took this picture—and for the first time, I thought, “Maybe there’s something here.”

I had no idea where photography would take me, but looking back, this was one of those small moments when God was planting a seed long before I understood what it could become.

Thank you to City Market for trusting me and allowing me to help tell your story. And thank you to all those who came before us—the generations of family, employees, and loyal customers whose hard work and love helped make City Market what it is today.
