I was suppose to post this days ago, but I couldn’t.
Some parts of me was still hoping for some sort of miracle.
Today, as I liquidate inventory and turned off the last fridge, it is more real than ever. There is no turning back now.
Sometimes, we need to close some doors and move on. Not because we can’t make it work (I’m always thinking “make it work”), but because some situations eventually shows us we can’t continue, especially if it costs our peace, our wellbeing.
CJ Chicken and Seafood was a product of blood and sweat. Building it by hand, creating it with EVERYTHING in me! 15 hour plus days, barely a day off to spend with family, missing important events, not prioritizing health… It is always more than just another business to me. It was making a dream into a reality.
As we say goodbye to a place we poured our hearts in, I just want to remember the good parts. The amazing people who kept coming, from being customers to family and to the people who quietly supported us behind the scenes. I am proud to be one of the few black-owned businesses in Ludowici and carrying on the entrepreneurial spirit of my Grandfather!
Thank you Cheryl Diane Elder-Berry for sticking with us through the years supporting us through some tough times always there when we need her ❤️. Despite everything, I am grateful and will forever be!
Some dreams are meant to last forever.
Some are simply meant to change you.

Thank you to my kids and my wife who was there through it ALL and who sacrificed the most just to see me live out my dream ❤️.
Thank you to everyone who became part of this chapter and it’s not over as we transition back to our food trailer to serve you that crack seasoning with our delicious fried chicken and seafood!
