🍒 Sometimes the best ideas take root quietly
For years, my life’s work has been centered around one simple belief: healthy communities depend on healthy local farms.
Tomorrow, we’re trying something new at House & Harbor Mercantile.
🍒 Fresh Campbell Crossing Farm cherries will be arriving in our cooler 🍒
Last week, after work, I stopped by Campbell Crossing Farm for fresh veggies for the weekend…and, of course, came home with several pounds of our favorite cherries. Inspired by the harvest, I created a Smoked Bourbon Cherry Crisp recipe I’m sharing with you today.
This is about more than selling produce.
It’s about creating another place where local farms can thrive. It’s about celebrating the harvest, gathering around the table, and making sure the people who grow our food have every opportunity to succeed.
The beautiful photos in this post were shared by my friend, Mary Campbell. They remind us that every cherry begins with a family that plants, nurtures, and harvests it with care. Campbell Crossing Farm has long shared my belief that fresh, local food strengthens communities, and I’m grateful to partner with people who live those values every single day.
If this little experiment speaks to you, we’d love for you to stop in. Pick up a bag of Campbell Crossing Farm cherries, try the recipe, and celebrate one of the sweetest parts of a West Michigan summer.
This is just the beginning, and I can’t wait to see where this journey takes us. 🍒
