Hey y’all!
It’s been a long time since we’ve posted, and I want to start by saying how much I’ve missed you. Rocky’s Rockin Diner has always been about family and community, and even though our doors have been closed for a while, I think of you often — the friendly faces, laughter, and love y’all brought into the diner. I hope you’ve all been doing well. I truly miss serving up your favorite comfort foods and catching up with each of you.
I also wanted to give a little update, since many of you have kindly reached out or wondered about our journey. As of now, there are no current plans to reopen. It was a hard decision, and believe me, I so miss cooking breakfast and lunch for our tight-knit Lucedale community every day. But life has taken me on a new path, and I’m excited to share what I’ve been up to (don’t worry — it still involves good Southern cooking 😉).
Through this little business of mine, I’m now available for catering and private events 🥘🎉. That means if you’ve got a family gathering, church function, or special event coming up, I can bring that same love and home-cooked goodness right to your table. I’ve been pouring my heart into this — showing up with all the Southern hospitality, love, and flavor you remember from the diner. It’s been such a joy to feed folks again, whether I’m baking or cooking. And with cold weather here, what’s better than cooking up a big pot of gumbo? I feel truly blessed to share a taste of home with y’all in this new way.

And guess what? In all this bustling behind the scenes, I’ve written a cookbook! 📖❤️ I gathered up my most cherished recipes — including a few beloved favorites from Rocky’s menu and treasured family recipes — and put them into Zula’s Southern Luxury Cookbook. I want to say thank you from the bottom of my heart. The support and love from the Lucedale community — my hometown — mean more to me than words can say. Every memory shared, every message asking how we’re doing, every “when are you coming back?” reminds me how blessed I am to be part of such a caring family. Those early mornings, busy lunch rushes, stories, and hugs across the counter are forever tucked in my heart and inspire me every single day.
While Rocky’s Rockin Diner remains closed for now, I truly hope you’ll stay connected with me in this next chapter.
