This is the last week we will be open for business! We will plan on Friday, April 26th as our last day. We will be running out of items permanently later in the week (Thurs/Fri).

We will do a "Yard Sale" Monday, April 29th from 11am - 3pm. Items for sale will be mostly tables & decor. Most of the equipment has been bought, but there will be some items.

We will be selling off some items for pick up between April 28th - April 30th.

TABLES: All tables are 2" thick all-cedar with a thick gloss finish

Three - 30" x 19" for $200 each
Five - 60" x 29" for $300 each. These 5 have an unfinished side meant to be pushed up against a wall
Five - 30" x 30" for $250 each
One - 96" x 29" for $500
One - 6 foot long picnic table: $500

1 6ft tall Crescor Cook & Hold Oven: Model # CO-151-FUA-120: $8,000
1 6ft tall Metro Warming Cabinet with 2 clear pass-through doors: Model # C569-SFC-UPFC: $4,000
1 Southern Pride SPX-300 Smoker with exhaust fan (fully functional): $15,000

All items must be pre-paid by either cash or cashier check no later than April 25th to reserve your item. No credit cards accepted. All sales will be final.

All items must be picked up from April 28th - April 30th between 10am & 3pm. Purchaser is responsible for transportation.

It started on Feb 4th 2001. Torch & I had a few name changes along the way, Firehouse BBQ 2001 - 2006, Firefresh BBQ 2006-2007, Bruce's Smokehouse 2007 - 2011, Crabby Jake's Fish House & Barbecue 2011-2012. 2012 Torch wanted us to try and keep the flame alive. So since we couldn't use our original name of Firehouse BBQ, because of infringement rights with Firehouse Subs now being in Kentucky, we both decided on FDKY (Fire Departments of KY) 2013 - PRESENT. Torch did everything he could, to keep the dream alive! Since 2020 Covid, the economy and the lack of people wanting to work, made it extremely difficult to keep the doors open and a not so profitable endeavor. The cost of labor and the 'cost to good' is so out of control, to where you have to charge $10 - $15 just for a burger or sandwich to pay the bills. Where as prior to 2020, burgers, barbecue sandwiches were around $3 - $5. Nowadays, the majority of the people don't eat out as much or when they do, they would rather have a sit-down dinner, with service for just a few bucks more. We both agreed, that we could not increase to that point for a 'fast-casual' barbecue place, and still stay in business. We appreciate the number of years that you all have supported us, and chose to spend some of your hard earned money with us. Please understand, that the small independent retailers only survive because of you. They can't buy cheaper, they can't take profits from other locations that are doing well to save other locations that's had a bad week or two. Support the independents, they are your family, friends and neighbors. As Walter Cronkite used to say every night when he signed off "And that's the way it is" Wednesday April 10th 2024. We are saddened to announce that April 27th will tentatively be our last day open. This date may change as we run down our inventory.

Due to the current economy, it has become too difficult to continue.

We hope you will stop by & see us a few more times. We are encouraging everyone to use up any gift cards or loyalty account points.

We will be selling our Dry Rub for $5/Pint; Chicago Fire Gallons for $16; & Distillers Blend Gallons for $20. We barely have enough Sweet Gallons to make it to the end, so there will not be a sale on those.

Thank you all for a wonderful 10 years! We could not have made it this far without you!

We will be closed from Thanksgiving (Nov. 23rd) until the following Tuesday (Nov. 28th) so our staff may spend an extended weekend with families. We will reopen Tuesday at 11am. Wishing everyone a safe & tasty holiday!

FDKY BBQ will award any US Armed Forces Veteran, Active Duty or Active Duty Reservist with proof of service, a choice of either a FREE Fireside, Fountain Drink or Tea with the purchase of any Entrée.
We wish we could do more for our Veterans! Since we are a small independent business, our buying power is not as large as the big chains. Therefore our margins are much tighter than those type restaurants. We do appreciate your service more than you know!
