Celebrating Our Stories: Hispanic Heritage Month at Foko & La Galería
At Foko, Hispanic Heritage Month isn't just a date on the calendar, it’s an ongoing commitment to lifting up the brilliance, history, and creative power of our Latine community here in Louisville. What started with a mission to illuminate culture through food has naturally expanded into a space for visual art, movement, cross-cultural connection, and shared storytelling. Here is how we're celebrating this month at Foko!
Opening October 2: De Aquí y De Allá Exhibition at La Galería
Friday, October 2 | 5:00 PM – 9:00 PM
Free & Open to the Public
We are thrilled to invite you to the grand opening of our newest exhibition at La Galería at Foko: De Aquí y De Allá (From Here and From There).
This exhibition sits at the heart of Hispanic Heritage Month at Foko. De Aquí y De Allá honors dual identity - holding tight to our roots and traditions while building new stories and community here in Louisville. It celebrates the immigrant experience, the strength of diaspora, and how art connects us across distances.
What to Expect at the Opening on October 2nd (5-9pm):
Visual Art Showcase: Experience powerful works from local and regional Latine artists exploring themes of home, identity, memory, and belonging.
Storytelling & Live Performances: Live music, dance and spoken performances from 7-8pm by owners Joshua and Francisco, Mexico Lindo and Vaianos Paisanos.
