Your Body Is Part of the Season
Yesterday, we started with the environment. Today, let's bring our attention inward.
Your body doesn't exist separately from the world around you. Changes in light, temperature, activity, sleep, food, and routine can all change the way you experience your day.
Maybe you're feeling more tired.
Maybe your appetite is different.
Maybe you're moving less.
Maybe your schedule has become more demanding.
Maybe you're simply noticing that you don't feel quite the same as you did a few weeks ago.
None of these observations automatically mean something is wrong. They're invitations to pay attention. This is where body literacy begins.
Before reaching for an herb, ask: What is my body communicating?
Then ask: What might my body need more of during this transition?
Sometimes the answer isn't another product. It may be sleep, food, water, movement, sunlight, rest, connection and sometimes, herbs can become one part of that support.
🌿 Herbal Action: Nutritive
A nutritive herb is traditionally understood as a plant that provides nutrients or is used as a nourishing food-like herbal preparation.
This is different from reaching for an herb because you have a specific symptom. We're thinking about nourishment and support.
💚 Body Literacy Question:
When your routine changes, what does your body usually ask for first? More rest, more food, more movement, more quiet, or something else?
Inside the Herbal Intensive, we go deeper into herbal actions because learning the action helps us understand why we're considering a particular plant in the first place.
