Today, I saw something that made me stop and think.
I was watching people pass by, families heading home, cars driving through the neighborhood, everyone busy with their own day.
And for a moment, I thought about something we often forget:
Food is never just food.
Sometimes, one bite can take you back to a place you haven’t seen in years.
Sometimes, a recipe carries the memory of your family.
And sometimes, an entire culture can travel thousands of miles and find a new home somewhere completely unexpected.
That’s what we wanted to create here in Los Angeles.
Not just another place to grab a meal.
But a place where people can discover Afghan flavors, experience our hospitality, and taste the food that has been part of our story for generations.
That place is Bigi Awasaana.
From our chicken and beef shawarma to kabobs, mantu, bolani, and other Afghan favorites, every dish represents a little piece of where we came from.
A little piece of the Silk Road.
Right here in Los Angeles.
So the next time you see Bigi Awasaana, remember…
You’re not just looking at a food trailer.
You’re looking at a story that traveled a very long way to get here.
Bigi Awasaana — Born From The Silk Road. Grilled In Los Angeles.
Come hungry. Leave with a story. 🧡
