Hi friends,

This year we’re doing something VERY different, and we want to bring some of LA’s incredible artists, makers, collectors & small businesses along for the ride.

We’re creating a HALLOWEEN NIGHT MARKET — an indoor/outdoor Halloween flea-market-style experience filled with vendors, games & all kinds of strange and unusual things to discover.

We already have some amazing vendors confirmed, but WE WANT MORE!

👻 WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

Spooky stuff. Halloween. Horror. Goth. Oddities. Art. Vintage. Clothing. Jewelry. Collectibles. Handmade goods. Curiosities. Basically, if it belongs at the world’s coolest Halloween flea market, we want to hear from you.

🎃 THERE IS NO VENDOR FEE.

You bring your products, set up your space, make your sales & keep your money.

We want to create something where independent vendors can actually make money while building a real community around this event.

So we’re doing things differently.

🖤 THE HONOR SYSTEM

We don’t have the staff — or the desire — to stand over vendors counting transactions or checking books. We’re trusting the people participating in this community.

If you make money, we ask you to contribute either:

• 25% of your NET PROFIT after your costs & expenses are covered

OR

• 10% of your sales, if that’s easier.

IF YOU DON’T MAKE MONEY, YOU OWE US NOTHING.

If it costs you $200 to participate and you make $200, we don’t want a dime.

The goal is simple: vendors make money, the venue covers some of the cost of creating the experience, and together we build something really fu***ng cool for Halloween.

You don’t have to vend every night. Space is limited & first come, first served.

Thanks to all of you spreading the word, sharing our posts, tagging your friends, and refusing to let Halloween die, some wonderfully strange people at an incredible venue have stepped in to resurrect BEETLE HOUSE LOS ANGELES for one more spooky season!

Beginning Thursday, October 8 through Saturday, November 7, The Compound in Commerce will present:

🎃 BEETLE HOUSE: RETRO HALLOWEEN PARTY 🎃

This year, we’re doing things a little differently. Instead of our traditional $65 three-course prix fixe dinner, The Compound is transforming Beetle House into a fully immersive, all-night Halloween party.

🎟️ Admission: $30 in advance

Once you’re inside, the night is yours. Grab a seat or roam the party. Eat as much or as little as you want. Drink—or don’t. Explore, dance, take photos, watch the performances, play games, and lose yourself in Halloween.

Expect spooky street food & Halloween fare, bubbling and smoking cocktails, potions & brews, and a DJ spinning Halloween favorites, goth, industrial and emo all night long.

There’ll be cosplayers, entertainers, sideshow acts, games, apple bobbing, piñatas, candy grabs, trick-or-treating, and all the weird, spooky, strange and unusual things you’ve come to love about Beetle House.

👻 AND YES—IT’S A COSTUME PARTY! Costumes aren’t required, but we strongly encourage you to crawl out of your crypt dressed for the occasion.

⚠️ NO WALK-INS. A ticket is required for admission, so please purchase yours in advance.

Most importantly, thank you from the bottom of our black Halloween hearts. Because of all of you—and thanks to The Compound for giving our strange little family a home—we get to celebrate our 10th Halloween in Los Angeles together.

We were so close… turns out the venue we’ve been working with for the last month decided to tell us yesterday, after a month, that they don’t actually have the means, equipment or ability to host this event and provide adequate dedicated space. AND, because we spent so long confirming everything with them, we lost our second choice venue. So, one last try then it’s rip for beetle house in La this Halloween. WE NEED A RESTAURANT with a full kitchen and staff that has a minimum of 70 seats that wants to become beetle house for the month of October. This will be (thanks to you all) extremely busy and profitable for their business. Hit us up if you have something that fits that criteria. Thank you and wild send some positive soooky vibes our way. We are really trying to pull this off..

LOS ANGELES, YOU MADE IT HAPPEN! You shared our posts, you got the word out and a very cool dude with a very cool space decided that he wanted to bring Beetle House back to LA for the month of October! It’s truly a Halloween Miracle! We will be announcing the location and reservations very soon, but we’re just so thrilled to be spending our 10th Halloween with the hauntingly beautiful and wonderfully creepy humans of Los Angeles in our second home. We can’t wait for you all to see this historic and HAUNTED space in one of Los Angeles’s iconic and historic spaces. This space has had a lot of history and therefore a LOT of ghosts! 👻 spread the word, the freaks are back in town, the juice is loose, the day is saved, Halloween lives on!

Friday December 26 and Saturday December 27th are the last chances to see the location at 7080 Hollywood boulevard. It’s currently hosting the pop up and these are the final two days to ever come here and see this space. Our gift to you, all admissions to the pop up for the last two days will be FREE! (Admission only cocktails are not included) so come on out, spook out with us and our pals at one final time and our gift to you, free admission! 6pm-9pm both days. As promised, the update on the future of Beetle House. We have some news, some good, and some even better. The good news is that Beetle House LA has teamed up with some great folks to become from BLACK FRIDAY UNTIL NEW YEARS EVE! This is a fully immersive over the top dark winter wonderland, complete with weekly nightmare before Christmas Raves, smoking and bubbling drinks, a goth winter garden, with snow machines, goth Santa and the elves! This space will be filled with activations everywhere. There is NOTHING like this anywhere and we are so excited that our current location is able to be home to this pop up! NOW, the better news… Beetle House LA is relocating to the Burbank area. After 9 Halloweens in Hollywood we are leaving. It’s been whacky, wild and weird, but it’s time for us to move on. We wanted to have one last Halloween in Hollywood before the move and so we did. Our LAST day of Beetle House service at this location will be next Saturday November 8th. After that we will be building our new space and getting everything ready which will take some months to do. We plan to reopen in our new location when all of that is complete.

Thank you all for 8 great years and 9 Halloweens in Hollywood and we look forward to many more in Burbank at our new home.

Thanks to you guys coming out and showing support we made it through July. We are now pushing for August! We have a plan, it’s a big scary haunted plan, but it’s a plan! We don’t want to quit, we aren’t quitters, we want to sink our fangs into this place and suck the blood out of it. It’s all about you guys. Do you want us to make it? If so, keep showing up! We need you guys to spread the word, the house stands for another month! Book a reservation now for this week and next week. Wanna come more than once? Because of the overwhelming support and love we have received from you guys. It has been possible for us to continue on this month. The bills got paid, and some repairs that we need to do are happening.
The bigger issue that we have, as we had shared is that our rent is just simply too expensive in this space and we don’t believe that this space is the right space for us. We always felt more like a haunted house than an auditorium and so we are actively looking For a potential new home.
The GoFundMe is great, we never thought about anything like that before and it was amazing to see people donate to it and continue to donate to it. Thank you for that.
The greatest and most important thing that anyone can do right now to support us is simply come have dinner. Patronizing the business, coming for dinner coming for drinks, throwing events. Anything that you guys can do to support us will help us hopefully survive and get to the next level. We are not out of the graveyard yet. There is still a lot of issues and we are still uncertain as to what will happen, but we are working our best to correct them and your support means everything to us.
We are seeking out investors, we are seeking out opportunities to move into a more reasonable location with affordable rent, potentially in a different neighborhood outside of Hollywood. All of these options are on the table. Originally, we said we did not know if we would be able to continue after July and that has not changed. Although the support from the community has been awesome and we have been able to pay our bills over the last three weeks That can change at any moment and it would only take a couple bad weeks for us to have to close the doors.
Remember, if you haven’t read our original post, we shared the bills. It costs us over $50,000 a week to stay open and that’s a big number to reach every week. From the bottom of our little black and
hearts we thank you for everything. If the future will have us, we are here for it, but if the ride is over we are thankful we got to be on it. No matter what, we had the best time celebrating Halloween year round with the best city and the best people for the last 8 years!

You may have heard the rumors… Are we closing? What’s happening?

We’ve gotten so many messages from you and first—we just want to say thank you.

Most businesses wouldn’t share this publicly… but we’ve never been like most businesses. This is embarrassing. It’s heartbreaking. It’s not the post we ever wanted to write—but it’s the truth.

You’ve been our family, our friends, our community for 8 years we need to be honest with you.

Where we’re at: We’re facing some really hard decisions. Whether we close, or move, or take one last shot to save this place… we don’t know yet.

How did we get here?

The pandemic shut us down for over a year. An investor pulled out, leaving us with a $500,000 hole. A manager stole $60,000 and vanished. Then came the LA fires. Now the immigration crisis that’s devastated hospitality in this city.

We’re not just a restaurant. We’re a restaurant, a bar, a nightclub, dinner theater, and a spooky immersive experience—all rolled into one. And that comes with huge operating costs:

$50,000 a week just to break even.
$40,000+ monthly rent.
$30,000+ weekly payroll.

We’ve drained our finances. Borrowed during the pandemic. Pushed as hard as we could for as long as we could.

We’re not posting this for sympathy. We’ve never asked for help before—not even during COVID.

We’re just tired.

As it stands today… Beetle House LA, in its current form, will cease to exist after July.

Could that change? Possibly.
Could we get the miracle we need? Possibly.
Could this be the end? Also possible.

We’re exploring everything: fundraising, private investors, relocating… but right now, we need people in the building spending money if we’re going to survive.

For every person who came, ate, sang, screamed, worked, quit, loved or hated us,—thank you. You all mattered and built this!

If this is the end… we leave with gratitude and our heads held high.

We created something we loved… for people who loved it… for 8 spooky, ridiculous, incredible years.

New York remains open and strong.

Hello. This event is canceled.
It was brought to our attention from .losangeles and that one of the promoters of this event may have been involved in things that go far outside our values and ideology. We have been part of the Los Angeles food and spooky/goth community for 8 years and seek to always provide a safe and welcoming space for everyone. The exception is that we will not provide space for anyone involved in naziism, racism or discrimination of any kind. Putting our customers safety and comfort over money has always been our priority clearly as we run a Halloween Restutant year round… money was not the priority! We strive to bring a different type of experience to a city full of vibrant people and personalities. We wanted to create a Halloween party that happens five days a week year-round. Our goal is to be welcoming and inclusive and in doing so sometimes we have to say no to certain types of events or certain people. This post in no way is meant to cast guilt on any individual or to claim that we have all the facts regarding these individuals. It is simply to say that we are not comfortable hosting this event or any other events hosted by this group. Therefore the event is canceled and we thank those in our community for bringing this to our attention. we are open for bookings and rentals to others in these communities that would like to host events. It’s been a rough year for the living and the dead and it’s only MAY! So let’s do something a little crazy, it may put us out of business, but we’re gonna turn on the juice and see what shakes loose! Starting next Thursday and every Thursday thereafter until we quit or die, The ghost with the most will be hosting this amazing night offering the ultimate Beetle House experience for the lowest price in history! We will serve you up a three course dinner with all the trimmings for $40. BUT WAIT, THERE’S MORE! Buy one get one Beetle’s Juice cocktails and buy one get one half off Fish Bowls! And the best part? It’s a cosplay night, it’s like Halloween all year long! We just installed our newest activation our fully immersed coffin photo booth where you guys can capture the memories inside the decked out Photo Booth room!
