So proud and honored to be a part of this! 🙏🏿
Cross Colours LA is celebrating National HBCU Week with FOR THE CULTURE 2.0 — a campaign celebrating HBCU pride, Divine Nine legacy, fashion and community.
This one is especially personal for me.
Founded in LA in 1989, Cross Colours helped define Black style on our own terms — bold, unapologetic and rooted in messages of unity, education and pride. And in our house, it was FAMILY.
Growing up, my late, beautiful mother LOVED Cross Colours. Before you could find it everywhere at retail, she would take my brother R.McMullen and me to their warehouse sales here in LA. If you know, YOU KNOW. 😂 And somehow, my mama always knew.
So 30+ years later, to wear vintage Cross Colours as a Morehouse graduate, member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., Black creative, entrepreneur, father — and son of the woman who introduced me to the brand — is a true full-circle moment.
Special thank you to my brothers Ray Cunningham + Kadeem M. Pilgrim, MBA for including me in something that means more to me than you probably knew.
FOR THE CULTURE. Then, now and always. ✊🏿
