Tomato time!!! We wait most of the year for this and it’s here! Our Summer Veg Sammie is back from now until tomatoes go on winter break. A blend of Celebrity and Heirloom Varieties from our friends GomezMunak Ranch ranch layered with fresh DiStefano Cheese mozzarella, cilantro, mint and red onion on incredible, seeded focaccia from our beloved neighbors Kitchen Mouse. This one was created as a tribute to Chef Chef Nobu Matsuhisa and his Tomato Ceviche Salad which is the best tomato salad anywhere ever. Period. A Los Angeles icon that changed the landscape of global taste, introducing many of us to the Japan-influenced joys of Peruvian cuisine and fusing it with California produce and beautiful precision and playful flavors and style. One of my favorite questions to ask when I think of the dishes that change my understanding of food is “how would I make THIS a sandwich…?” The Summer Veg is one of the ways we’ve answered that… here until they’re gone IYKYK… and if you don’t already, now’s your chance!!
