It is with a heavy heart that I announce the indefinite closure of Broadway Mary’s. This decision has not been made lightly, and it comes after countless hours of reflection and consideration. Broadway Mary’s has been more than just a restaurant to me; it has been a labor of love, a vision brought to life with the hope of revitalizing downtown Lorain and providing a space where people could gather, connect, and find comfort.
From the very beginning, my goal was to create an atmosphere where those who are passionate about food could come together and share their love for culinary experiences. I wanted to offer more than just a meal; I wanted to offer an experience, a place where people could feel at home, whether they were enjoying a cup of Rising Star Coffee during a work meeting, celebrating a special occasion with loved ones, or simply seeking a moment of peace in their day.
One of the most meaningful aspects of Broadway Mary’s has been the opportunity to give back to the community. I have always been committed to providing a welcoming environment for those who were struggling, offering a free, warm meal to those in need. I know all too well the challenges that life can present, and it has been my privilege to offer a helping hand, to create a space where everyone, regardless of their circumstances, could find a moment of solace.
As I reflect on the memories made within these walls, I am filled with a deep sense of pride and joy. I have witnessed the laughter of families celebrating birthdays, the blossoming of love between couples who found a connection here, and the camaraderie of friends and colleagues sharing stories over a meal. Broadway Mary’s has been a place where the community could come together, and I am grateful for the opportunity to have been a part of so many lives.
However, despite the love and energy poured into this business, the challenges we face have become far too difficult. The decision to close our doors indefinitely is one of the hardest I have ever had to make. I want to express my deepest apologies to our loyal customers, our dedicated staff, and everyone who has supported Broadway Mary’s over the years. I understand the impact this closure will have, and I am truly sorry for the disappointment and disruption it may cause.
While this chapter comes to a close, I want to give back once more to the community; to provide food at no cost until our ingredients are no more this Wednesday from 9am to we run out Indoor seating will be closed during this time.
Thank you Lorain.
