Rosie's Pizza Palace

Rosie's Pizza Palace Rosie's Pizza has been serving Lorain since 1954. Owned and Operated by Jason Lute from Rand Univers Rosie’s Pizza Palace has been making pizzas since 1965.

The mom-and-pop pizza parlor was opened by the “Queen of Pizza”, Rosie Brest. The longest running pizza maker in America started making pizzas in the current shop in 1954 when it was The Pizza House. In 1959 she fixed up an old brick building in Avon at Lear-Nagle and Detroit roads and opened it as the first Rosie's Pizza. During the early 1960s, Brest operated her business out of a building on Ni

nth and Broadway in Lorain, next to Miraldi's Cafe. Then, when Jack Karnik offered to sell Brest The Pizza House in 1965, she jumped at the chance and was a fixture there until she passed in 2007 at the age of 93. She was assisted by her twin daughters Dorthy (Dottie) Ryan and Delores (Dee)'
The two-story white frame building is a landmark in Lorain and is Owned and Operated by Jason Lute, Rosie’s grandson and the son of Dottie. The crust, pizza sauce and fresh ingredients are staples at Rosie's Pizza, and the smell wafting from the building often pulls new customers inside. The dough and pizza sauce are made each morning from secret recipes. But if you want Lorain’s finest pie you will have to order early because once they’re out of the dough they made for the day, they’re done making pizzas for the night.

Good news — I am reopening March 11th!
After being closed due to an accident, I’m finally able to get back in the shop and fire up the ovens again. I truly appreciate everyone’s patience, support, and kind messages during this time.
Please understand that my hours may vary as I continue to recover and listen to my health, but I’m excited to be back and look forward to seeing everyone again soon.
Thank you for supporting my small business. 🍕

Good Afternoon Friends and Valued Customers of Rosie’s Pizza:

Happy New Year to you and your families. I hope 2026 brings you health, happiness and great memories.

I wanted to let everyone know an important update. On Christmas night, I was involved in a serious car accident and sustained multiple injuries, including fractures to three vertebrae, a broken clavicle, fractured pelvis, and broken ribs. I am incredibly grateful to be here and my next step is focusing on recovery and rehab to return healthy and strong.

Because of this Rosie’s will be temporarily closed while I heal. This will simply be a pause while I recover and return to th business.

Thank you for your support, patience, and kindness during this time. I look forward to welcoming you back as soon as I am able to reopen.

Thank you - Jason
