Wishing this lady another year of growth & success in her sophomore year at Mount Union. She’s a fierce athlete and a very smart & wise young lady. You bring a lot to the table Belle - You are adored by everyone & will be missed very much. Thanks for always showing up, working hard, being kind to our customers, helping me with cool ideas & caring a whole lot about this weird little coffee shop. You are a big part of this place & it won’t be the same without ya.

Thanks to all of our fantastic regulars & coffee shop family who came to send Isabella off. You guys were so kind & generous today, and it means a lot. We are here for you, but you guys always show up for us & that is really special.

Oh Hey! Thanks for being patient & kind to us after our espresso machine was out of order for a few days. Parts are on the way from Italy for our Rapallo machine. In the meantime, we got our old Sibilla dusted off & running really nice today. She’s all dialed in & making some really good coffee. Serving Honduras on espresso all week with our full menu. Guatemala on cold brew & Brazil on drip.

So stop in for a proper cappy or cortado tomorrow. 🫶🏻🙏🏻

Coming back Thursday with a couple new things. Mocha-Caramel Latte • ADK Latte & ADK Cappy - made with the best Adirondacks Mountain maple syrup & fresh Ceylon Cinnamon. And yes… we will make it iced (although the maple flavors are much more pronounced served hot & with whole milk). Like always, coffee forward & not too sweet. I like to think that our drinks are crafted for balance & actually taste like coffee.

I only took 3 photos in the High Peaks… but brought back 2 gallons of the finest NY maple syrup from the foothills of the Adirondack Mountains. When we return to the shop on Thursday, we will have the ADK Latte inspired by my love of this wonderful & wild place. Served hot: Double shot Honduras espresso, a healthy dose of maple syrup, pinch of salt, premium steamed whole milk, and a dash of fresh ground Ceylon cinnamon. An absolute balance of strong coffee & natural sweetness.

I also snagged some smoky Lapsang Souchong tea from a really cool shop in NY, so we are working on a new iced tea drink that will taste like you’re at a campfire.

Thanks for not giving me grief or bad reviews for taking the week off 😆. It has been a blessing. Looking forward to sleeping in once or twice before I see you all next. Gonna try and check out some new coffee shops we haven’t had time to visit yet, and button up some odds & ends at our shop. My daughter and I were thrifting in Cleveland today & came up with a cute idea that I’m excited to roll out for you guys. More on that later this week! Cheers ❤️

We are looking for people who have coffee shop/restaurant experience and already have service industry background. If you have espresso machine & milk steaming experience that is a bonus.

Max…❤️ - You my friend, are a real one for sure. And we will deeply miss seeing you here everyday.

If you know Max, you know that he is definitely a mover & a shaker. And the perfect person to hold this role for the past several years. A lot of people talk about making the downtown a better place, Max worked every single day to do just that. He cared so much for the growth & health of this downtown, and was always on the go. I’ve seen this guy in more meetings this year alone, than I’ve probably been in my entire life. And it’s not always easy dealing with all of the different personalities & idiosyncrasies of the business district’s owners… I know for a fact that this guy put out a lot of fires, and tried hard to mend fences, and bring people together. There is no doubt that Max has made this downtown a much better place, and I am so grateful for all of his dedication to all of us.

Main Street Lorain is more than just a group that puts on events. It’s like a unity of businesses. Showing a cohesive desire to make our town a better place. The more people involved & unified, the stronger & better we are as a downtown.

Cheers to Max, and congratulations on your new role. The city of Oberlin is extremely lucky to have you.

Main Street Lorain Executive Director Max Schaefer will be leaving his position to join the City of Oberlin as their new Economic Development Officer late next month.

As our first full-time Executive Director, he has spent the past five years growing the organization, strengthening our partnerships, and creating a sustainable foundation for the future.

His commitment to his hometown has always been evident, and throughout his tenure he has consistently put the best interests of our downtown businesses, property owners, and community first. We are grateful for his leadership and wish him nothing but success in his next chapter.

With Max’s departure, Main Street Lorain will begin their search for a new Executive Director immediately.

As we begin this transition, our focus is on the future. Main Street Lorain is entering an exciting period of growth, and we are preparing to develop a new strategic plan that will guide the organization through the next five years and beyond. We are looking for a dynamic, visionary leader who can build on the momentum we've created, inspire collaboration throughout our community, and help us continue moving Downtown Lorain forward.

We have a strong board, dedicated volunteers, and incredible community partners, and we're excited for the next person to join us in shaping what's ahead.”
