TOMORROW:

Jacob Augustine, Scorch Steezy & Austin Latham play live at Ship to Shore. Music starts @ 7:30pm.

The shop will be open all day up until the show and will remain open during the performance. Cafe will be serving in between sets.

We ask for a $15 donation that will go directly to the performing artists, but no one will ever be turned away for lack of funds.

As of today, WE’VE BEEN OPEN A WHOLE YEAR!

What a quick whirlwind of a year it has been. Thank you to every person who has helped us, stopped in, bought from us, participated in the community, left us a review, helped with events… thank you for everything, Lorain & beyond! We absolutely love being part of this quickly renewing Downtown Lorain and extend our love to all the others who are making this community so vibrant in their own way. It’s a lot of work, but we love what we do and we are so happy to open our doors every day to such an incredible, supportive and wonderful community. We’ve been lucky to have had such a solid crew of employees with us over the course of this year and have to shout out all of them past & present - thank you Emy, Rosie, Mya, Mia, Campell, Pip & Leslie!

We left out a few coupons around the shop for you to find. Some are discounts, some are for free items. It’s a small, small way to say thank you to everyone. One coupon per person, please!

We want to give a quick shout out to some other businesses who have just been so deeply helpful to us over the years on getting started and steps forward as we opened our doors. WE MISSED Y’ALL!!

And despite the industry pressure, we are not letting go of summer yet…. It’s not fall yet!

Introducing the “Holdin onto Summer” menu.

“Little Dipper” is a root beer based espresso drink that feels like grabbing on to those last days of summer as tight as you can. Sweet but espresso forward, a nostalgic sugar rush that will keep you wired for the day. Great with vanilla cold foam on top. Iced only, oat or whole milk. Inspired by the intro track to Hum’s 1995 classic LP “You’d Prefer an Astronaut”, a lush, spacey, bittersweet alt rock / post hardcore album with hints of emo, grunge, shoegaze & metal.

“Aunt Martha’s Medicine” is a classic oat milk based latte, with house made elderberry + honey syrup & sugar. The elderberries are harvested right in here Lorain, from Solidarity Urban Farms. Can be made as a latte, cappuccino or a cortado, and is great hot or iced. Inspired by Frank Capra’s 1944 film “Arsenic & Old Lace”, the generational crime-comedy about a pair of maiden aunts with an interesting hobby. If you get the reference, we hope you’ll still try it…

“One Straw Matcha” is a matcha based latte with our house made honeydew syrup. Incredibly refreshing, melon forward flavor, closer to a classic fruity iced tea. A great companion to harvesting your garden, spending time with a friend, or both! Based on Masanobu Fukuoka’s (originally published in) 1975 book “One Straw Revolution”, a fascinating book about how farming influences our way of life, how the land we live on is directly related to the human spirit, proposing ways of life that can heal both.

We are changing up how we do specials slightly, preferring to have less of them but more frequently. If you like em, make sure you get em while they’re here. This will allow us to be creative with new ideas and also let our most beloved crafts make a re-run more often!

Join us this Wednesday for a FREE movie night!

We will be watching the John Waters directed 90s comedy “Serial Mom”, starring Kathleen Turner.

The movie starts at 7:30. We will have the cafe open before the movie, during intermission and for a short time after the film ends. Join us afterwards for an optional discussion of the movie!
