Better late than never! 😂🍞

Y’all… it has been A NIGHT at The Bread Barn. 🤦‍♀️

First, I woke up this morning and realized I forgot to feed my starter last night. That little mistake put me about 8 HOURS behind schedule. 😳 (never mind the fact I have a day job that requires me to concentrate!)

Things got worse when I doubled my pumpkin cream cheese muffin recipe… except apparently I decided eggs were optional and used only half the baking powder and baking soda. 😂 The result? Beautiful little pumpkin hockey pucks. 🏒 The chickens were delighted. 🐓

Next up: biscuits. Surely I could handle biscuits, right? WRONG. I biffed the baking powder AGAIN. At this point, the chickens are carb-loading for an event none of us knows about. 🐓🥐😂 (And yes, I know not to overload them with treats—especially in this heat. They didn’t get it all!)

So here I am, finally finished, and I get to wake up in less than 5 hours to start putting all that sourdough in the oven. 😴🍞

Tomorrow’s selection will be a little more limited than usual because apparently I tried to fit 37 hours of baking into a 24-hour day, and this baker has officially hit her limit. 😂

But my customers are worth it, and The Bread Barn WILL be open at 7:30 tomorrow morning! ❤️

And you can bet your last loaf of sourdough that once it’s over, Nana is taking herself a NAP. 😂😴
