THE 3RD ANNUAL BIGGEST BUCK ON THE BLOCK IS HERE!
Sign-ups are OPEN at Brookside Hops & Hoagies! $20 gets you in, and you can sign up any time before or during the season. You must sign up BEFORE you harvest and weigh in your buck. Bring proof of an unfilled regular-season buck tag in your name.
Heaviest buck wins. Points are the tiebreaker.
Lucky Buck drawing: everyone who weighs in a buck and doesn't take 1st is entered.
Adirondack Mountains only. Open to ALL AGES.
Regular r***e season only: Oct 24 – Dec 6.
Buck must be tagged, with the tag filled out, and weighed in AT BROOKSIDE. No exceptions.
Participants can only weigh in one buck!***
Every weigh-in gets a free b**r (soda for youth) and a picture on the wall!
Johnny holds the right to disqualify any cheaters and our poor sportsman!
Last year 71 hunters signed up and 18 bucks hit the scale. Congrats again to John Rags on his winning 187.8 lb 10-pointer ($1,065) and Phil Degreenia our lucky buck winner ($355)
This contest has never been about ego. Every ADK buck has a story worth telling: the spike, someone's first Adirondack buck, and the biggest deer of the season. The tracking, the drag, the boat ride, the buddy who answered the phone. Come celebrate it with us at the weigh pole at Brookside!

LETTTSSSSSS GOOOOO AND YES SIRRRR!!

A HUGE congratulations to our local High School Bass Fishing Team, the Long Lake Lunkers, on an awesome day competing in the SAF New York High School State Bass Fishing Championship on Paradox Lake!

The Lunkers headed down with two boats, with Long Lake locals Morgan Delehanty, Michael Lamphere, Charlie Seaman and Kieran Furlong all competing.

And they brought it home!!

Morgan Delehanty and Michael Lamphere were the winning boat and are officially the 2026 NEW YORK STATE HIGH SCHOOL BASS FISHING CHAMPIONS!!

With the win, they’ve also punched their ticket to the National High School Bass Fishing Championship in South Carolina!

We couldn’t be more proud of these guys. They’re great kids, they love to fish, and we’re lucky to have them representing our little town of Long Lake.

If you see these fine young gentlemen around town, make sure you congratulate them and show them some love!

These kids flat out know how to fish. Think they might have to teach me a thing or two.

Congratulations boys! You earned it!

I can’t believe how fast this summer has gone! It’s been rocking and The Brookside Crew has been crushing it all summer!
The last shot to come hang with Ravyn, Pailin, Tommy before they go back to college!(you all know I’m sad to see them go)

Back by popular demand and request! Brookside’s Italian Sausage Peppers and Onions on a Hoagie!
We had a great day yesterday after closing a little early for some summer normality for the crew! It’s a grind in the summer for everyone working in Long Lake, but we won’t let that stop us from enjoying!!! We dodged some thunder dodged some lighting and great times were had! I think Mitch (Hoss’s crew) has the catch of night with smaller perch smacking his lure that was almost bigger than the fish itself! Great laughs to be when you’re on the lake!
